This morning the BBC. Have reported on exciting news for the MS community.
Ocrelizumab is the first drug shown to work in the primary progressive form of the disease!
Ocrelizumab is a drug that is currently being reviewed for use in the UK. Some people may say it’s only potentially exciting because it has to get passed this panel first and then there are warnings that if it does, due to costs it may only be available to a narrow group of patients.
However I think the fact that a treatment has been developed that has positive effects for both Relapsing Remitting MS and Primary Progressive is a very exciting step in the right direction!
